Almost All of Computers Vulnerable of Cyber Attack

Copenhagen – More than 98 percent of Windows computers vulnerable to the cyber criminals because it contains at least 1 application that is not in the patch. In fact, nearly 50 percent of computers have 11 or more programs that affected the risk cyber attacks. That is quite surprising that the statistics cited security bureau based in Copenhagen, Secunia. Secunia revealed the data based on utility-based research through the Personal Software Inspector (PSI) that are installed in the consumer computer.

According to Thomas Kristensen, Secunia Chief Technology Officer, utility that can track the existence of applications that have not been in the patch. Secunia then randomly select the 20,000 machines that have been adopted as the PSI study.

“Most people are always to update Windows because Windows Update is easy to use. Applications Adobe Reader, Flash and Quicktime, and also so the browser. However, many browser plug in from third parties have no mechanism so that people do not update”, said Kristensen.

The data from the PSI indicates only 1.9 percent of computer users who are really secure. This figure is lower than the data the study last January in which 4.5 percent is still free from computer programs that are not in the patch, as noted from DetikInet.
